What is a Bosslady? Well according to Urban Dictionary, it is “a woman in control, taking charge of her own circumstances in work & life. Someone who knows her worth and won’t accept anything less. She is empowering and inspiring to those around her. She kicks ass!” I am going to meet a different woman every month to discuss and ask them the same questions. My goal is to show that we can all be a Bosslady no matter our appearances or our backgrounds.
Our first Bosslady is my beautiful friend, Tamara Budrow. This 28 year old California native, made her dream come true by moving to Paris almost 3 years ago. Leaving her job in NYC, she started out in Paris as a nanny and has now started her own interior decoration company: budrowdesigns.com. She is the woman behind most of my street style photos.

How would you describe your style?
Feminine and free – I am always wearing some sort of heel and I am a fan of colour. I am never dressed warm enough for Paris, but I love the way the Paris fashion changes my looks.
Who are your style muses?
I can’t think of anyone that I really turn to for fashion.. I am always just observing everyone around me on a daily basis and falling in love with random items while shopping which is a serious boredom addiction.
What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?
My giant black textured scarf. It can warm up any outfit and looks great with everything. Or, a good favourite pair of skinny jeans that always have that perfect fit.
What are the 3 items you can’t leave home without?
Easy ! A bag, a sexy Bralette and makeup.
What are your favorite brands?
Nasty Gal – affordable and cute, Brandy Melville – super comfy fabrics and great for layering, Victorias Secret – because I love bralettes and lingerie, Urban Outfitters – fits my classic style and I love the quality of a lot of their items.

Tell us your journey of self-love?
It took me a long time to learn to love myself, and it only came after I moved out and away from everyone and everything that I knew. It was then that I really spent quality time with myself and learned to love the way I was without anyone. When I came to live in Europe is when I really started to learn some deeper things about who I am; things that differed from my culture or the way I was raised to think. I think it was all of those moments when I looked back at my youth before I had accomplished so much and spent so much time with myself, that I loved myself and felt proud of the person that I know.
When do you feel the most confident? and/or What do you do to feel confident?
I think finding your element and being in it is the best time for feeling confident. For me, I feel, best when I am exercising regularly and have enough time to do the things that I enjoy. A good hair or skin day never hurts either. Hanging out with friends who uplift me is always a great confidence booster too!
Do you dress to cover any part of your body or to show off parts of your body?
I usually dress to show off by the body. I like to show off my legs the most and I’ll never buy a pair of jeans that don’t make my butt look amazing.
What is the thing you’re tired of people asking you?
Are you sure you’re ok to walk alone ?

- What does it mean to you to be a Bosslady ?
I think every woman is a bosslady in her own way. I think women who can call themselves boss ladies are boss ladies. Women are so superior in this world. Our battles are often unspoken and silently overcome. It takes a lot of courage just to go through this life as a woman and come out happy, strong, confident, and yet we all do it. I think every woman needs to look inside and recognise that bosslady part of herself and be proud of it.
- What are you most proud of ?
Following through with my dreams, even if they seemed so big and out of reach, unrealistic to most, and scary in the reality aspect of things. I have never regretted the big decisions that I have made to follow something that I knew I wanted.. even if I didn’t know what the next step was after. They have become my proudest moments in life.
- Who are your biggest role models ?
Beyonce – because she’s the Queen B! She always looks great and every woman has got her back. She works extremely hard and she’s a mother all the while. If I could morph all of my best friends into one person, she would be my ultimate role model. I seek out qualities in a lot of my best friends because they are each so strong and smart in different ways than each other and myself. So I am always looking up and forward to what they are doing.
- What are your ambitions for 2018?
Get my business off the ground and win my visa to stay in France doing my passion as my job. Take an epic vacation somewhere new.
- What would you like to ask me?
Will you style me one day?? Pretty please 😉
